Sometimes it so happens that a person is getting ready for a special occasion and that is when they look for their favorite outfit. And it is in these crunch situations that they realize the difference in the fitting of dress all because of the additional weight. This is an example of such a point in time when people realize the weight they have put on and then starts an effort to get rid of it. Weight loss to be summarized means balancing the calories. Thus the above can be done in two different ways or by blending the two ways also.

The first is by controlling the food habits or what is better known as dieting and the second is by exercising. Statistics reveal that if a person uses both the techniques, the success rate goes pretty high as compared to carrying them out individually. Doing the weight loss activities effectively would mean that a person will lose about two to three calories per week. At first the water weights get dissipated and thus the weights also reduce pretty fast, but the rate slows down as time progresses.

The first and most important step of dieting is to understand and to know the exact amount of calorie intake for a person. There are several websites that provide with such information as to which food item and beverages account for how much calorific value. Once done with it one can decide the diet themselves without the help of anyone. The reason is that, one is now aware which food item accounts for the highest calories and which for low calories. It is always beneficial to include lots of fiber in the food intake as well as consuming low fat food items.

After getting a grip on the calorie intake, weight loss regime can be now extended to the next level with the inclusion of exercises. As it is know that weight loss means balancing between calories, hence burning calories is an excellent way to do so. Exercises do not mean that one needs to spend hours together in the gym, but rather the ones that one can afford to do on a daily basis. Walking and cycling are two relatively simple yet very effective exercises that can be added up in the weight loss regime. They show different results depending on factors such as the height and weight of the person and also the intensity of the working out.
